Water Ripple Pattern

Take a breath.

People start therapy for all kinds of reasons.

Sometimes it’s a full-blown life implosion. Sometimes it’s a slow burnout that’s been creeping in for years. Sometimes you’re the capable one, the strong one, the one everyone else leans on, and you’re quietly exhausted behind the scenes.

However you got here, you don’t have to explain it perfectly.

I’m not here for polished stories. I’m here for what’s real.

I’ve spent decades studying humans, not just in theory, but in real bodies, real stress, real grief, real reinventions. I don’t see people as diagnoses or checklists.

I see nervous systems that adapted.

Patterns that made sense at the time.

Strength that maybe doesn’t even feel like strength anymore.

When you sit with me, you’re getting someone steady. Someone who isn’t thrown off by intensity, tears, anger, or “I don’t even know what’s wrong, I just feel off.”

I’m going to notice the patterns.

I’m going to help you untangle what’s yours and what you’ve been carrying for everyone else.

I’m going to say the thing gently but directly when it needs to be said.

I believe in depth. I believe in the mind-body connection. I believe your story makes sense. And I believe you’re far more powerful than you’ve been allowed to feel.

This is a space where you can exhale. Where you don’t have to perform being okay. Where we do the kind of work that actually shifts things, not just for this week, but for your life.

If you’re looking for someone grounded, thoughtful, and real, someone who can hold wisdom and humor in the same breath, I’m here.

Is This the Right Fit for This Chapter?

The clients I work with don’t all look the same on paper.
Different ages. Different identities. Different stories.

But they all have one thing in common:

They’re in the middle of a life transition.

Sometimes it’s obvious — divorce, menopause, new motherhood, relocation.
Sometimes it’s quieter — an academic shift, moving into adulting, launching after college, becoming an empty nester, aging parents, career pivots, health changes.

And sometimes it’s internal:

  • Realizing you’ve outgrown the life you built.

  • Questioning your identity, faith, sexuality, or long-held roles.

  • Noticing burnout you can’t push through anymore.

  • Wanting partnership but being exhausted by modern dating.

  • Becoming the cycle breaker in your family.

  • Hitting success and thinking, “Why doesn’t this feel better?”

  • Entering midlife and feeling restless instead of settled.

  • Facing a diagnosis — yours or someone you love’s.

  • Or simply recognizing that the old coping strategies don’t work anymore.

I think of myself as a life midwife
steady, grounded, and honest while something new is trying to be born.

Not here to fix you.
Here to help you navigate the in-between.

If even one line resonates, you’re likely in a season of becoming.

And you don’t have to move through it alone.

Meet Melissa

I am genuinely grateful you have taken the time to explore my page and get to know me. Choosing a therapist is a big deal and I encourage you to find one who feels right for you.

My practice is '"integrative". Before becoming a therapist, I spent nearly 20 years as a holistic practitioner in the field of complementary and alternative medicine. I bring that experience with me into my work as a therapist.  I integrate the fundamental principles of traditional psychotherapy with holistic approaches (complimentary, alternative, and functional therapies), to promote healing on all levels: emotional, physical, mental and spiritual. My methods include, but are not limited to CBT, DBT, IFS, Clinical Hypnotherapy, Somatic Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, & Neurodivergent Affirming Care.

I see every single client as unique and do not believe in a one-approach-fits-all model. Recognizing the link between physical disease and emotional dis-ease means that therapy is more than an opportunity to talk about your problems; it can restore your overall health and increase your life span.

My practice is "inclusive".  I diligently work to uphold and adhere to the code of ethics that govern my field.  Therefore, I promote the values of social justice and I am dedicated to working inclusively with people whose backgrounds, lifestyles, life stages, belief systems, identities and cultures might be different from my own. I strive to maintain a diverse practice, and provide my services to people of all races, ethnicities, neurotypes, immigration statuses, religions, genders, sexual orientations, abilities, incomes, relationship statuses, sizes, and philosophies.

I am a people person! I am passionate about humans and their unique expression in this world.  I am continually learning and growing, and I invite you to give me feedback should I say or do anything that makes you uncomfortable. I strive to create an environment where you feel free to bring all of you into our sessions without fear of rejection. I value your unique journey and work hard to help you discover solutions tailored to you.

Your peace and well-being is my priority.
